In the beautiful surroundings of the historic town of Kutná Hora on 27th April 2013 a significant cultural partnership has been held between the City of Prague and Venice on the occasion of a photographic exhibition of Italian artist Maria Pia north in the local art gallery GASK. The municipality of Venice was institutionally represented party by the Councilor for tourism Roberto Armour, further by Stefanie Steo, representing the association the Venetian hoteliers AVA together with Barbara Bonanno, Deputy of Tourism Organization Venezia Si. Fashion and culture have been represented by costume designer and stylist Francesco Briggi. The event, therefore, had the opportunity to support both the history of Venice and artistic culture of the Czech Republic through the exhibition of photographs by Maria Pia Severi, whose opening was held in GASK was, Gallery of Central Bohemia in Kutna Hora, the second most important museum in the country after the National Gallery in Prague. At the press conference held at the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague, who patronized this event together with the Italian Embassy in the Czech Republic, were also present sponsors, among which were Alitalia in the person of Mrs. Susan Košťálová, the company DeLonghi and Orrero, as well as representatives of the press and Radio and former director of the National Gallery of Czech Republic, Vladimir Rösel. Diplomatic representation has been ensured by the person of Mr. Bartolomeo Pietro Lamonarca, representative of the Italian Ambassador, the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Venice, Giorgio Boatta. An interesting feature of the accompanying photographic exhibition installation has been sponsored by the organizations AVA exposing period costumes from the eighteenth century, the work of Atelier Pietro Longhi and her costume designer Francesca Briggi. These costumes will remain on display in GASK till the 30 June 2013. AVA is involved in this project, because it looks at the Czech Republic as to a prosperous economic and tourist market despite the prevailing global financial crisis and, therefore, believed and considered possible to make the country more attractive cooperation, which may further enhance the prestige of Venice as a historical crossroads of culture and elegance. Also noteworthy is the share of non-profit organizations Public Art for dealing with spreading of culture and art to the broad public. Its director, Monika Burian Jourdan, is the author of the exhibition concept, which engaged also Serena Baccaglini and Tina De Falco as curator of the exhibition and the Gallery GASK's director John Šorfová.
